Hello All Readers,
My name is Lee and I want you all to enjoy Woodland Springs the way that I have. This is my fifth time here and I enjoy each vist more and more as the Musselman family grows in my heart. The B&B is great , but only a portion of the reflection of the wonderful people running it.In the case of interest, I am an arborist who looks after their property when I get free time from everyday city life.Thank you Gaye and George for all the wonderful memories because this may be my last visit due to the selling of this place. Take care .Lots of love..... Lee Tanner Toronto January 2006

The Friday evening line up of treatments -pedicure ,reflexology, and therapuetic touch was a great way to reduce the work place stress. It set the tone for the whole relaxing weekend much needed.Perhaps the T.T. could have been done in the bedroom chairs away from the gales of laughter and talk to concentrate more and focus. The food choices were above fabulous and the presentation was always magnificent . Good luck and call us when your cook book is out !!
"Thank you for the superb weekend. Your cooking is a 6 star in my book !"

Our "wellness" weekend brought to memory the Buddhist philosophy of
"mindfulness" or attention to life moment by moment.
One wants to feel the effects of wellness instantly; aware of its
benefits moment by moment. We experienced that through the gentle foot
massage and pedicure; through gilded sights of nature's offerings
surrounding us; through the tantalizing tastes for our waiting palate as
well as the subtle sounds of the Muskoka backwoods. All of this woven
together with humour, joy and energy.
We did indeed feel well in ourselves and well in the company of each
other - doubly blessed.
Thanks for the dream fulfilled - not a moment lost or even delayed.
Sincerely,
Donna Wolsey

Gaye.... thank you
for making our women's wellness weekend so pleasant and fun.
I think your motto should be "we keep em fed, busy, and laughing."
I enjoyed the reflexology,
pedicure, nature walk, boat ride, tai chi and flower
arrangement...but most of all, I thoroughly enjoyed the delicious, well
presented meals and the gaity and laughter that came with it.
Thanks Gaye and George for a wonderful B&B experience. Joan
Thanks Gaye
I had a wonderful time this past weekend. Meeting an interesting group of women was really enjoyable.Going for a run back in St. Catharines did not compare visually, to running down your forested road.Your food was terrific and Im only sorry I couldnt stay longer on Sunday to enjoy the brunch and the tai chi and living wreaths. Thanks for the recipes!! Kate

To say we enjoy your hospitality would be an understatement. Our third year back was just great and we enjoyed every minute.
Reflexology and Pedicure...spaaaahhh! Living wreaths with moss, berries, forest treasures & fresh flowers crafted on the dock with Heather West Deerhurst Designer were keepsakes of the weekend- a highlight!High Tea on the dock [actually we substituted beer] with Mel Malton's cousin Hortense "story telling" was another highlight.Star gazing at night on boat house top with the loons keening, filled our souls with peace and made us sleep like babies.George gave us our boat ride in picture perfect weather followed by Chef Pam Steel teaching us wicked desserts -decadent chocolate ganache, chocolate pot au creme and chocolate bars in flaky pastry.....hmmmmmm for the trip home !!!!!

Wow ! What a great breakfast comes to mind .....your hospitality and lakefront cottage were superb . We'll be back for a gourmet dinner weekend in spring !!!! I can't thank you enough for making our girls weekend a memorable one! My friends couldn't stop ranting and raving about your hospitality and of course your Five Star gourmet breakfast! The grounds at the Woodland Springs really make any vacation a very relaxing and soothing one - my goal is to stay long enough at the B&B to actually finish an entire book on the Perch or on the boat deck.My friends were also very impressed with the Muskoka/Huntsville warmth and welcoming hospitality .
Hi Gaye,
We made it back to Ottawa safe and sound (with a few stops along the way!!!). Unfortunately, due to our quick departure, I didn't have an opportunity to sign your guest book. However, I didn't want to pass up the opportunity to thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us this past weekend. Needless to say, I think you know how much we appreciated your breakfasts!!! Never have I seen such a wonderful array of breakfast items, each as good as the next! I tried to describe your menu to my husband when I got home but words don't do it justice so .. We'll just have to come for a visit sometime with Celina and Drago and take it all in together!
Thank you some much for everything, we had a wonderful weekend!!

Dear Gaye and George ,
Thank you so much for our wonderful "Gourmet Getaway." Not only did we experience great food and wonderful fine dining in your lakeside cottage setting but we learned to improve our entertaining skills for our guests back home .Local flavours, the combination of ingredients and professional instructions all contributed to a wonderful weekend .We learned about presentation and how to plate our courses for both task and viewing pleasure! We loved playing with chocolate and making mushrooms out of potatoes and fans out of zucchinis . Most of all we loved the hands on touch of our own personal "in house" chef and his ability to make "working " in the kitchen look and feel so easy.Everything we expected and more ! James and Natasha's group Ottawa June 2005

Dear
Gaye & George,
Many thanks for a wonderful weekend. The B & B in your case should really
stand for "Bed & Banquet" such is the great feast you conjure
up each morning. Being just plain folk like yourself, we have a terrific appreciation
of the simple things that make life so good and that you have in such abundance.
The water, the garden, the wildlife and a great family history going back almost
one hundred years makes your home at Woodland Springs a special little Shang-ri-la.
I promise, I will be back. If for no other reason than to catch that damn pike
- did I tell you about that? Must have been at least 3 feet long! Oh, and Monica
adds that we also have some 42 items we have not yet had from the menu.
Talk to you soon - I will mail the part for your umbrella today and, how did
you make out with our little friend in your lattice?

Woodland Springs Penlake was a home away from home;the food was delicious. It's
amazing how you can cook so many dishes all at once. It was fabulous to see
the families of deer so close to us by the patio door. The reason we came here
was to do dog sledding which was really fun. I hope we find another reason to
come back for more activities and stay longer.Thank you for everything .Pauline

Sitting on top of the boathouse is like being in another world.Awakened -paddled a canoe around an island -dipped in the lake -and then .....YES..there was the unbelievable BREAKFAST . I had to wait for 3 years to return from Belgium to taste it again. For 3 years I just had the download version of all the creative and artistic dishes of Mrs.Musselman.
Mr.Musselman is still in a peaceful sleep. The example of a postive attitude.

It feels good to be back here ,but unfortunately life is too short.Next time we're going to stay here at least 3 or 4 days.It is too beautiful to stay here only 1 or 2 days. So, we are going to see each other for sure next year. Big hug . Willy Broekhoven from Belgium -brother of Monica
Everybody talks about the food and I agree 100% but I talk about the people-they are like the food -delicious,sweet,and have a character full of flavour.Thank you for for your total look and that is very special. Ja Broekhoven Netherlands
What more can I add to all these words of my family ? I have been enjoying your great home, lovely breakfast and indescribable warmth for 4 years now as a B&B guest and I am surprised every time I come back . Few words can explain the feeling !! I feel part of the family. I will see you soon, you know.Monica -sister of Willem and daughter of John
To George and Gaye ,
As children we loved to visit our grandparents at Musselmans Lake.Theirs was a farm -"The Windsors"and many of the cottage lots came from their farm land and Windsor Drive exists today. How interesting to meet Musselmans and learn the historical connection.
You have a piece of paradise here and we loved the evening on deck top of boathouse and the morning walk in the forest.
Breakfast in your beautiful outdoor room "The Perch" was most wonderful. The"fruit soup" and apple pan dowdy was most delicious. We feel we have had a mini holidayand hope we can return another year .Thank you George and Gaye and Muffy.

Dear
Gaye & George,
Thank you so much for sending me my book. We really enjoyed our stay with
you. The breakfasts were amazing! My favourite part of the weekend was
spending a whole day sitting on a reclining chair on top of your boathouse
looking out at that beautiful view of the lake and enjoying my book and
just feeling
totally relaxed! Isn't that what summer is all about??!!
Thanks
again for the hospitality.

On behalf of Emma, John, and myself, a big thank you for a lovely stay last week at your charming lake homestead. Gaye, you and George are terrific hosts, and made us feel most welcome...we have been raving to everyone about your hospitality and food, so don't be surprised if you have some visitors from Rochester in the near future! A special thank you for all you did for Emma, esp. the use of the fishing gear and leeches :) She had a grand time and thinks the world of you both, as we do. Enjoy these remaining summer days, and we look forward to seeing you again. If you are ever headed our way, please give us a call, and we would be happy to play tour guide in our neck of the woods.
